The Lost Library of Leake Street

“I loved it with all my heart. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” – Audience Review

“Absolutely enchanting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” – Audience Review

“A magical experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” – Audience Review

“Superbly written, skillfully directed and exquisitely performed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” – Everything Theatre

“An absorbing and intruiging fantasy [with] balletic direction. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” – West End Best Friend

“There are stories in everything. If only you know where to look.”

It’s Christmas Eve, and Isla is lost. Wandering through the vaults and tunnels of Waterloo, she is searching for something – a gift for her mother, after a tumultuous year past. But nothing seems to be quite right. Until, that is, she finds the shop. Or, to be more precise, the library. Or, to be more precise still, the Lost Library of Leake Street.

But this isn’t like any library you’ve seen before. Sure, it’s full of stories – as most libraries are. But here, the stories aren’t found in pages or on tape. The stories come from things. Lost things, discarded things. Things that were once treasured by a Londoner, now lying forgotten. Or almost forgotten.

Step in to The Lost Library of Leake Street with Isla, and join her on a whirlwind journey as she explores all the stories that London has to offer, and learns how, in this city, connection can be found in the most unlikely of places. A show for people of all ages, you'll experience a truly unique Christmas show about family, loss, magic, and the stories that bind us all together.

The Venue

This Christmas, VAULT Creative Arts will be completely transforming their lower-ground floor venue at The Glitch into a junk-shop, a repository, or, as some know it, The Lost Library of Leake Street. Audiences will be invited in to the library to experience a truly unique Christmas show for all ages. But there are plenty of other ways to experience the library too. We will offer a daily social events - from Christmas Carol Sing-Alongs to a Festive Pub-Quiz - as well as our vibrant bar, serving a standard selection, plus mulled wine and cider. However you take part, you'll join us in a truly unique, magical location created to offer a cosy, welcoming, and unique festive experience!

Buy tickets Pedro Leandro (work-in-progress)

work-in-progress of the debut show from Pedro Leandro, a comedian who has famously been described as “magnetic” (Guardian) and “a beautiful bright-eyed joy” (Everything Theatre). Sadly, he has found this praise to be insufficient. Standing atop the lonely Everest of his innumerable achievements, he invites his audience to reflect: will it, can it, ever be enough?

A BAFTA might do the trick. It certainly won’t hurt.

No Tall Men - Teenie-Hallow-Weenie

Listen up, shorties: London’s diminutive doyennes of drag are back, and this time, things are getting scaaaaaaary! Expect hair-raising drag, spooktacular prizes, and the most bone chilling spectacle of all: karaoke!

Your dad keeps saying #notallmen, and we agree, tall men are awful, but luckily, you won’t find any of them round here.

No Tall Men is a deeply silly cabaret that celebrates short kings, lanky queens, and average peasants - like you! You’re in for a raucous night featuring some of the finest drag talent, an ‘eclectic’ selection of prizes, and all-round lovely vibes. Come on down to the Glitch for some fun-sized fun.

Hosted by drag nuisance Aiden Strickland (NADC All Stars, Don’t Drag Me I’m Scared, Top of the Slops), and the best thing to come out of Halifax since Anne Lister, ‘R’ Graham (beloved stand-up Roisin McCallion), PLUS a top-secret superstar cast tba!

No Tall Men’s Teenie Hallow Weenie is not one to miss!

Pravanya Pillay: Bike Centaur (WIP)

What is a Bike Centaur? Probably a metaphor for something. A way to describe someone weird. Who watched too much Bollywood and can’t get over the 1997 - 2001 Blair Government.

BUT there’s a parallel universe where the earth is covered in naturally occurring bike lanes. This small environmental change meant different genes were chosen and different creatures triumphed under natural selection. In this universe the Bike Centaur is not a metaphor. They’re dating our daughters, they’re working at KPMG*, they’re in our velodromes. In this universe they’re real.

But this is a show about the first thing - the metaphor. Or is it? Watch to find out.

Pravanya Pillay brings you a work in progress comedy show about being kind of strange OR an all encompassing history of Bike Centaur civilisation. We’ll see.

As seen on:

Rhod Gilbert’s Growing Pains
BBC Three Asian Network Comedy

Writer for BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Wales

*KPMG ran a Bike Centaur access and inclusion programme in the early 00’s to address the lack of Bike Centaurs in finance - the programme was so successful that KPMG is now 90% Bike Centaur.

Bobby Prezinsky has gigged at London's top clubs, including Soho Theatre, Angel Comedy, Up the Creek, Backyard Comedy, Museum of Comedy and many more in and outside London. He is a semi-finalist of the Chortle Student Comedy Award 2019 and a former President of acclaimed University sketch group The Leeds Tealights, whose alumni includes Jack Barry, Annie McGrath and Goodbear.

Do you ever get Déjà vu?

Dylan’s last show (“an innovative way to experience a quarter-life crisis” – Wee Review) ended with him deciding to have children. Since then he’s been stuck in a time loop. Yes, exactly like that film. No, Bill Murray isn’t in this...

If you’ve ever felt like nothing you do will change things... This show is for you. If your thoughts go round like windmills, getting stuck down rabbit holes... This show is for you. If you enjoy copious amounts of repetition... You get the idea.

Stolen Table presents 'Identity Theft: What to Expect When You're Unsuspecting'

You're at risk of identity theft! Unless you come to this very informative, interactive, luxury seminar in which I, Bernadette (Agnes Carrington), invite you to experience the extraordinary variety of modern identity-burglarising traps it’s possible to fall into. Warning: do not attend if you’re unprepared to ingest a strong dose of what I like to call "reality".

New character comedy from Agnes Carrington (WIP). 'Carrington [gives] the greatest clowning performance of all... comic timing and choreography down to perfection' (ChrisOnTheatre.com).

Stolen Table presents 'Sam Dodgshon's Memory is Full - Lambeth Fringe

Sam Dodgshon has been collecting photos - 25 years worth of photos. He'd like to show you them now, and we'll decide which ones to delete.

New show from alternative clown, existential-dreading man-child Sam Dodgshon which uses a lifetime's worth of photos to examine memory, chronicle childhood and attempt to answer the question: 'why is everything like it is and how will people remember me when I die?'. 'One to watch' (TheComedyNerd) 'Dark and brilliant...the stuff of body-shaking laughter' (Scotsman). ***** (Entertainment-Now.com). 'Always interesting and intelligent in his idiosyncratic funny' (Scotsman [a different time])
