April Storm Perry is a model, multi-hyphenate creative, and performing artist from New York City. You may have seen her on NBC’s 30 Rock, TBS’s Are We There Yet?, or rocking out on stages as a back up singer in some of NYC’s staple music venues.
She later sang a song at Sing Sing Correctional Facility with RTA with (Rehabilitation Through the Arts) in her role as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz , which inspired her to teach acting to incarcerated adults and youth in 2015. She later worked as a teaching artist and program coordinator at Rikers Island with Drama Club NYC leading theatre arts classes and co-directing the Pivotal Rights Project which was featured on NPR’s The Takeaway. She is currently the lead actress in MY PLATE! The Food Guide Musical, supported by Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" campaign.
She also co-hosted and led writing workshops with Punch Up NC, an LGBTQIA+ organization that diversified the comedy scene in the south. As a professional improviser, she was a member of “DMXX”, the first all female hip-hop improv group in New York City, a former member of ”Tooth Fairy Conspiracy", an online international improv troupe, and a 2021 Saturday Night Live Diversity Scholar with The Pit NYC.
As a stand up comedian, she’s performed on stages like New York Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club and Gotham Comedy Club. Fresh off graduating from The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where she received her Masters in Screen Acting, Perry is excited to share her work in progress one-woman show, ACCEPT or DECLINE, with you at The Glitch.
She is happy to call both the US and the UK her creative homes and continues to share her passion of the performing arts with youth across the globe.
